Oils and Lacquers

Flooring oils and laquers are used to finish a floor and give a layer of protection. Flooring oils tend to help you keep the natural feel and texture of the wood where as a flooring lacquer gives a smoother surface.

About Lacquers

Lacquers dry quickly and can allow the application of multiple layers in one day. Lacquers also offer excellent protection for wooden floors that will be very hard wearing. They are water bourne, environmentally friendly and produce no bad odours.

About Oils

Finishing a wood floor with an oil is a job you can easily do yourself as they are easy to apply to your wooden flooring. Finishing your wood floor with an oil can give it a rich natural look, particularly on aged and textured flooring. Hard wax offers extremely good protection for your wooden floors as it is hard wearing and high in durability.

A microporous wax such as Osmo Polyx will have low solvent level. It will not peel, crack, blister or flake.
